Identification Section
The Identification Section performs the following functions for the Public:
FINGERPRINTING
FOR RESIDENTS OF THE CITY AND COUNTY OF DENVER,
INTERNATIONAL ADOPTIONS, OR PRE-APPROVED EXCEPTIONS
HOURS OF OPERATION:
Wednesday 10:00 AM TO 8:00 PM
Thursday 10:00 AM TO 8:00 PM
FEES FOR FINGERPRINT SERVICES:
$10.00 PER CARD (WE DO NOT PROVIDE FINGERPRINT CARDS)
$5.00 FOR EACH ADDITIONAL CARD
$5.00 FOR A COPY OF THE DPD MASTER FINGERPRINT CARD
SEX OFFENDER LIST
The ID Section creates and maintains a Denver Sex Offender List which can be purchased by mail.

The Identification Section employees also perform several other functions:
- Register all Denver parolees, probationers and sex offenders
- Verify by fingerprint, the identity of all persons arrested in Denver
- Testify as expert witnesses in habitual criminal trials
- Create photo lineups for our detectives and other agencies
- Process all Denver excise and license permits. This includes permits for liquor licenses, armed and unarmed guards and taxi drivers
- Archive all Denver records from paper to a computer data base
- Create City and County employee identification cards. These include police, fire, district attorney, probation and Career Service employees
- Make arrests
- Seal records as ordered by courts
- File and record restraining orders from the Denver courts
- Process FBI returns (Research and add FBI and state identification numbers to our records)
- Process firearm background checks for other agencies
- Provide Denver police officers and other agencies with criminal histories, background and photos
