The Democratic National Convention The Democratic National Convention will be held in Denver from August 25 – 28, 2008.  Given the international significance and the large-scale nature of this event, permits and licenses that involve fixed-space requirements in the downtown area from August 15 – 31, 2008, must go through a special process.  Peddlers, merchant guards and taxi drivers do not involve fixed spaces, and thus need not go through that special process.  If your permit or license needs a fixed space, click here (Denver 2008 Convention Information Site). Liquor Division: Monday thru Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. On the last Wednesday of every month, the entire Department of Excise and Licenses is closed between the hours of 12 noon and 1:00 p.m.
