“Mockingbirds don’t do one thing but make music for us to enjoy... That’s why it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.” Come listen to some of the best slam poets in the world compete for the Café Nuba slam title, and make sure that all voices are here for us to enjoy!

 
 
Want to be involved?
How the slam will work:
Poets are asked to slam around the topic of JUSTICE.
 
3 Rounds:
1st round = 3min, 2nd round = 1min, 3rd round = 4min
 
The pot will be split three ways:
1st place = $125, 2nd = $85, 3rd = $40
 
Ten (10) spots will be held open for poets who register in advance, with five (5) spots held for invited poets.  To get on the list, email Gina Rubano at gina.rubano@denvergov.org, or call her at 720-865-4325.
Never been to a Poetry Slam?  Here are the details:
A poetry slam is a competition at which poets read or recite original work. These performances are then judged on a numeric scale and prizes are awarded for the top poet!
