Denver businesses in the vicinity of the Yale station along the Southeast Corridor light rail line have expressed concern about potential impacts associated with the demand for transit-related parking at Yale Circle. In response to the community concern, the City and County of Denver Public Works Department created a parking management plan for the station area, and implemented parking restrictions created with input from adjacent businesses and residents who represent the area near the Yale Station. Click on the link above to view a map of parking restrictions agreed upon between the community representatives and Denver Public Works.

HOW are the new parking restrictions working?

Denver Public Works plans to begin monitoring the effectiveness of the parking management plan and the newly installed restrictions in January of 2007, when new transit patterns along the Southeast Corridor become more consistent. Until then, residents and transit users near the Yale Station are encouraged to submit input on how the restrictions are working, not working, or how they could be better applied. Please call Denver’s 3-1-1 Information Line, or email your comments to: pworks@ci.denver.co.us to send us your thoughts.

WHO is affected?

Community representatives in the vicinity of the Yale station area, and those who expressed concern about potential impacts associated with a high demand for transit-related parking.

WHAT are the proposed parking restrictions?

The restrictions allow a combination of "2-hour parking" and "no parking" restrictions. The 2-hour parking restrictions occur from 8:00am through 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. Exceptions include: Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The restrictions have been applied to both sides of Yale Circle.

WHAT about resident-exempt permits?

Denver Public Works will NOT be issuing parking exemption permits in this area as there are no residences on Yale Circle.

WHEN did the restrictions begin?

Parking restrictions were installed before the opening of the Southeast Corridor line. Enforcement began on Friday, November 17th, 2006, consistent with the opening of the Southeast Corridor light rail line.
