Denver Motor Vehicle pledges to provide quality customer service in a courteous manner to all City and County of Denevr citizens regarding legal Motor Vehicle mandates through teamwork, integrity, respect and pride.
Our agency does not issue Driver Licenses, Colorado Identification Cards or administer driving test. For more information about Driver Licenses, visit the State of Colorado Motor Vehicle Business Group.
When visiting one of our branch offices please keep in mind:

The middle of the week during the middle of the month is the best time to visit a DMV office.

The first and last days of the month and days before or after a holiday are our busiest times.

We encourage you to renew license plates by utilizing the State of Colorado's online renewal method or by mail according to the instructions on renewal notices. The average processing time for license online renewals or by mail may be up to 10 business days after receipt by our office.

Telephone assistance with a Denver Motor Vehicle Customer Service Representative is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
After 4:00 p.m., recorded assistance is available 7 days a week via our Automated Telephone Service.
