Echo Lake Park

Echo Lake Park is a 617-acre park 47 miles west of Denver. Soon after the park was acquired in 1920, a shelter house with picnic facilities near the lake was constructed. In 1926-27 the Echo Lake Lodge (open seasonally May-September 303-567-2138) was built from native rock and timber. Nestled in a glacially formed hanging valley at 10,600 feet elevation, views of the lake, lodge and Mount Evans are truly majestic. To see Echo Lake Park, go west on I-70 to the Mount Evans exit (Hwy 103) in Idaho Springs. Travel south on Hwy 103 for 14 miles to the park. Take a camera and warm clothing.
