Native grasses and native wildflower seed are sewn in the snow - putting the very snowy 2006-07 winter conditions to great use.
In 2007, the Natural Areas Program goatherd will be working to restore Camp Rollandet, Inspiration Point Park, and Bible Park.
In 2007, the Natural Areas staff will use myriad methods to restore natural areas. Planting native flowers and grasses by seeding and plugs as well as giving native seeds present in the ground the chance to grow as the weeds are controlled. A variety of methods including the use of hot foam and steam are used to control weeds.
Volunteers are an important part of the care of natural areas.
