Denver honors 150 ‘unsung heroes’ on sesquicentennial

In celebration of its 150th birthday, the City and County of Denver has selected 150 of its citizens to honor as “unsung heroes” – ordinary people who have done extraordinary things to help make Denver a better city for this and future generations. And lists 150 Wonderful Things About Denver.

City Seeks Comments on Use of Foreclosure Funds
The Office of Economic Development has drafted a plan for how to spend $6.1 million in federal funds to acquire and redevlop foreclosed properties. The public comment period runs through November 30th.

LeafDrop Program Ends December 5th
The last weekend for the Denver LeafDrop program is November 15 and 16, with two weekday sites open until December 5th. You're encouraged to dig your leaves into your garden, compost them or use them as mulch and take the rest to a LeafDrop collection site.

Parade of Lights Right Around the Corner!
The 34th Annual Parade of Lights takes place December 5 and 6 in downtown Denver. For more information visit the event website.
