 La Alma/Lincoln Park Minimize

The City and County of Denver has completed a Neighborhood Assessment for the La Alma/Lincoln Park Neighborhood and is currently in the process of completing a Neighborhood Plan for the area.

In conjunction with the neighborhood plan much work has been completed on a station area plan for the 10th and Osage Station at the center of the neighborhood. The initial public meeting for the station area plan was held February 15th, the second public meeting was held May 9th and the third public workshop was held November 15th. These meetings included break out groups for 10th & Osage, Decatur and Auraria West Station Areas. The planning process has identified a vision and strategies to direct appropriate change at these station areas and utilize the transit investment as a catalyst to enrich and enhance Denver’s neighborhoods.

The station area planning effort will be carefully incorporated into the neighborhood planning efforts. The next meeting will be in early 2008 and will present the draft combined plan for the neighborhood and station area. Please check back for updates so that you can come and share your ideas and vision for the neighborhood!

 RTD Maintenance Facility Minimize
RTD has determined that the Burnham Yard site is unacceptable for the Light Rail Maintenance Facility. A comprehensive assessment of maintenance needs determined that the West corridor fleet can be accommodated at the existing Elati and Mariposa facilities, future needs will need to be assessed further. Additionally, RTD will be required to relocate the existing Burnham Lead to accommodate the West Corridor movement. Further details on these issues can be found in the December 2006 RTD letter below and through the West Corridor information page.

Information about the RTD Light Rail Maintenance Facility may be obtained by visiting the R T D Web Page and information related to the West Corridor is available on the RTD West Corridor Page. In addition, information related to the 10th & Osage station are can be found on the 10th & Osage Station Area Page.
