The Denver Police Department is correcting information regarding an accident which occurred on northbound Interstate 25 and 2nd Avenue.  Initially information was received that the accident involved a motorcycle and a vehicle.  The corrected information is that this was an accident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

On August 20, 2009, at approximately 8:40 p.m. a pedestrian was attempting to cross northbound traffic on Interstate 25 at approximately 2nd Avenue when he was struck by a pick up truck.  The pedestrian, a 28 year old male, was pronounced dead on the scene.  No one has been cited at this time and the accident is currently being investigated.  Further information regarding the victim is being withheld until the Denver Coroner’s Office establishes positive identification and notification of next of kin.
