Hot in Place Recycling involves heating and scarifying the top one inch of the existing asphalt pavement, applying a recycling agent to restore penetration and viscosity, mixing this agent with the scarified, reclaimed material and laying down a "like-new" layer of recycled pavement that restores profile and cross-section. This process is less expensive and more environmental friendly than mill and overlay and provides a pavement that will last 8 to 10 years.
