Assessment Protest


Real property values are determined by the Denver Assessor's office. These property value assessments are used to calculate the annual property taxes that are collected by the Treasury Division.
For residential property, the Assessor is required by state law to base your new property value on the sale prices of properties similar to yours which sold between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2012. The Assessor is not allowed to consider sale prices of properties which have sold after June 30, 2012.
If you disagree with your property value, you may use any one of the following methods until November 17, 2014 to protest that value.
