Assessment Protest

Real property values are determined by the Denver Assessor's office. These property value assessments are used to calculate the annual property taxes that are collected by the Treasury Division.
For residential property, the Assessor is required by state law to base your new property value on the sale prices of properties similar to yours which sold between July 1, 2012 and June 30, 2014. The Assessor is not allowed to consider sale prices of properties which have sold after June 30, 2014.
If you disagree with your property value, you may use any one of the following methods until June 1, 2015 to protest that value.
Use our online form to submit your protest
Must be submitted by June 1, 2015

Your protest is not complete until you click Submit on the final page AND receive a confirmation number. The confirmation number will appear and an email will be sent. If you have questions or need help, please email assmt.protest@denvergov.org.
