Security Policy
This site uses a secure server for conducting online services. Some information that you submit through this Web site is protected by encryption technology, some is not. Editorial Policy
Individual City agencies are responsible for the content of their Web pages on DenverGov under the general direction of the Internet Policy Group and the rules it adopts. Customer Information Services is responsible for the content of administrative and general-content pages on DenverGov. DenverGov home page news items are gathered from information published elsewhere on the site, and compiled by Customer Information Services staff, to emphasize in an equitable fashion the programs, services, events and announcements from City agencies of interest to the general public. Customer Information Services staff will edit news for space on the home page, correct misspelled words, typographical errors and grammar or syntax that is unclear. Additional items also may be sent to Customer Information Services for consideration of inclusion on the DenverGov home page by City employees and officials. Selections are influenced by adherence to the City Charter and Internet Policy Group rules, accuracy, available space and timeliness. Anonymous submissions are not accepted.

Link Policy
The DenverGov site contains links to other Internet sites and resources. Whenever a user selects a link to a site not controlled by Denver, a warning screen will appear advising the user that he or she is leaving the DenverGov site, that Denver does not endorse any product or entity for which a link may be provided, and that Denver is not responsible for the content or availability of these outside resources. The City and County of Denver links to government, community, and other commercial World Wide Web sites in support of our:

• Vision to use the Internet to connect people with information, services, and other people in a manner which constructively furthers the City’s governmental purposes
• Key business goal to use the Internet and other emerging technologies to improve City services

City agencies may request links based on:
(1) their support of City functions and business;
(2) convenience to the public in their interaction with the City;
(3) significant economic development impacts within the City; and
(4) their supportive and natural affinity or logical nexus with the function or purpose of the agency.

The DenverGov links editor reviews all agency link requests for adherence to these criteria, together with the following considerations:
(1) availability of system resources and personnel to monitor and maintain the DenverGov Web site;
(2) the relationship and importance of the link requested to the ordinary and necessary functioning of the City; and
(3) the significance and timeliness of materials contained on the linked site.

Privacy Policy
The City and County of Denver is committed to protecting user privacy online. We believe that greater protection of personal privacy on the Web will not only protect users, but also increase user confidence and ultimately their participation in online activities. At www.denvergov.org, we intend to give you as much control as possible over your personal information. 2) Information that you provide us when using our interactive forms and functions
This information may include such things as name, address, telephone number, and other personal and business data.

3) Opting-out

At any time, while assessing our site(s), any user while online may decline participation in any activity that asks for information (i.e. survey or E-mail). In online applications that ask for personal information, you also are provided the option of canceling or "clearing all fields" of information and terminating the application. You also may request that E-mail messages you send to agencies represented on DenverGov be deleted from E-mail archives once the communication or transaction is completed. You also are provided an automatic way to "unsubscribe" to any newsletters, notices, schedules, etc., sent to you automatically by E-mail in our Free Subscriptions section.

5) Use of cookies
We do not use "persistent" cookies to collect permanent information. (Note: A cookie file contains unique information a Web site can use to track such things as passwords, lists of pages you've visited, and the date when you last looked at a specific page, or to identify your session at a particular Web site. A cookie is often used in commercial sites to identify the items selected for a specific shopping cart application.)

We do use "non-persistent" cookies in applications (like the online job application) that keep track of a user and make it possible for you to complete a form or use a function, but this cookie disappears when you finish filling out an application, or searching a database.

6) Disclosure to third parties
As a governmental agency, we are governed by open records laws. Any information that we receive through use of our site is subject to the same provisions as information provided on paper. Otherwise, we do not share personal identifying information with any third party without your permission. We disclose only in aggregate form our statistical analyses or demographics of users to third parties. In some instances, we may operate shared Web sites with other organizations. Our privacy policy will apply to these Web sites, and we require those organizations to adhere to our privacy policy, and will not share personal information with any third party without your permission.

This information is not reported or used in any manner that would reveal personally identifiable information, and will not be released to any outside parties unless we are legally required to do so in connection with law enforcement investigations or other legal proceedings.
