The Natural Areas division is committed to improving habitats for wildlife, restoring and protecting native plant communities, and protecting sites with scenic and historic value such as Cherry Creek or the Platte River valley, Mountain Parks, and other significant open spaces throughout the Denver area.

With hundreds of athletic fields and sheltered picnic sites throughout the city, Denver Parks and Recreation provides park permitting opportunities for almost every occasion, including organized sports, private functions, and large public events. We also offer several indoor event facilities and equipment rentals for weddings, graduations and meetings.
