Self Help Center and Approved Colorado Legal Forms Minimize

While by law the court cannot give legal advice, there is a considerable amount of information available to assist the citizen in filing civil claims.

Denver County Court Magistrate Alan Bucholtz has written a Small Claims Handbook: Guide for Filing, Answering, Proving and Defending a Small Claims Court Case   to provide further clarification about the terminology, forms required and how to prove or defend a case in the Denver County Court.  The handbook can be used as a reference in addition to the State document entitled Instructions for Filing a Small Claims Case, which is available at small claims clerk’s offices throughout the state or from the link above.

The court also sponsors Free Legal Clinics on a monthly basis to assist individuals with the filing and collection of small claims cases.

The Colorado State Judicial Self Help Center has hundreds of printable legal forms approved for use in Colorado State Courts. There are also numerous informational pamphlets to answer many of your questions as well.
