The Training Bureau is part of the Research, Training and Technology Division, and is under the command of Captain Eric Rubin. It is divided by function into three sections, Academy, Firearms and Video.
The Training Bureau provides basic recruit training for Denver police officers, and in-service training and seminars for Denver police personnel and outside law enforcement agencies. It also hosts special events such as promotional and award ceremonies. The Training Bureau sponsors the Denver Police Citizens' Academy and the Denver Police Family Members' Academy. The police academy also serves as a meeting place for Explorer Scouts, Post 83.
