Creative Options is a systems collaboration of the Denver Department of Human Services, Denver Public Schools, Denver Juvenile Probation, Denver Juvenile Courts, Denver's Safe City Office, Denver District Attorney's Office and the Mayor's Office for Education and Children. 

 

Creative Options received a National Truancy Prevention Association planning grant and produced the report Truancy in Denver: Prevalence, Effects and Interventions.  Click on Creative Options Final Report September 2006 for the entire report and the Executive Summary.

 

From the recommendations of the report Creative Options choose to work on 1-a public relations campaign; and 2-a full continuum of supports and sanctions.

 Creative Options partnered with Denver's Channel 8 to produce a PSA in English and Spanish, targeting students.  It was aired on Comcast, Channel 9 and Channel 8.
