Beginning Microsoft Word 2007
We’ll work together to create, edit, format, save and print a document. You’ll be ready with the skills you need to create your resume and polished, professional cover letters.
This session provides a great overview of the web and how to access a world of online resources. You’ll create an individual email account and learn how to use it.
We can help you prepare for and finish your GED before the test system changes on January 1, 2014. Scores from sections passed in 2013 cannot be combined with sections next year, so you should finish your GED today. We offer the Steck-Vaughn GED Practice Test to provide you with the tools you need to complete your GED. You can practice on the battery of tests to build confidence to prepare for the GED, and you may be able to get help with paying for the actual exam once you're practice readiness is complete. Start with this orientation and you’ll be ready in 2014 with only your success ahead of you! There’s also a GED Hotline at 720-865-5541.Because the GED test is changing in 2014, this initiative and orientation is offered only through December 31, 2013.
Job Search for the 21st Century
You’ll get personalized, guided assistance in your job search efforts, including how to successfully complete online applications and how to find a variety of employment resources and opportunities online. We’ll show you how to use networking and social media to tap into the hidden job market. You will complete your own customized Job Search Plan.
Targeted Resumes, Parts 1 and 2
These classes offer eight easy steps to building an effective resume and customizing it for specific job openings. Through examples and in-class exercises, you will learn how to create an objective statement, professional summary, and achievement statements. You will select a resume format and design based on your work history, skills, education and experience. The skills to upload an electronic resume are also covered.
Acing the Interview, Parts 1 and 2
These interactive sessions will help you improve your interviewing techniques and market yourself effectively to employers. You will develop your own 30-second "commercial" for interviews.
