At Denver Workforce Development, we understand that with training, you can increase your job skills and employability. We offer a wide range of classroom-style training programs designed to meet your needs . . . and those of your future employer.

Not sure what kind of work you are best suited for? Looking for a career path that will be rewarding, both in earnings as well as meaningful? We also have a variety of assessment tools that can help with these and other questions that job-seekers have.

Computer Basics
Don’t let your lack of experience using a computer hold you back any longer! We’ll help you with basic and essential skills and provide lots of encouragement and coaching. Learn the parts of the computer and how to use a keyboard and mouse. You’ll be prepared for our other classes and career assessments . . . and better prepared to succeed on the job.

Career Assessment Tools
Feeling overwhelmed by all the different directions your job search could take? Not sure what kind of jobs you are truly interested in--or can succeed with? We have online self-assessment tools that are excellent at helping you know what careers and occupations are right for you. Ask the team at your local Workforce Center for details.

Beginning Microsoft Word 2007
We’ll work together to create, edit, format, save and print a document. You’ll be ready with the skills you need to create your resume and polished, professional cover letters.

This session provides a great overview of the web and how to access a world of online resources. You’ll create an individual email account and learn how to use it.

Online Applications and ConnectingColorado
You’ll get personalized, guided assistance in your job search efforts, including how to successfully complete online applications and how to find a variety of employment resources and opportunities online.  

The Hidden Job Market
Come find out what your job search is stalled, and what you can do to get back on the fast track to a great job and career.

The Power of Networking
Stop fearing networking and start using it to land a great job! We’ll show you how to use networking and social media using the network you already have.

Targeted Resumes, Parts 1 and 2
These classes offer eight easy steps to building an effective resume and customizing it for specific job openings. Through examples and in-class exercises, you will learn how to create an objective statement, professional summary, and achievement statements. You will select a resume format and design based on your work history, skills, education and experience. The skills to upload an electronic resume are also covered.

Acing the Interview, Parts 1 and 2
These interactive sessions will help you improve your interviewing techniques and market yourself effectively to employers. You will develop your own 30-second "commercial" for interviews.

This is a new, one-on-one coaching service that will teach you how to build better credit, improve your score and fix errors on your credit report. Ask about scheduling a session at your local Workforce Center.
