Goal

The City and County of Denver is committed to providing barrier-free access, equal opportunity, and reasonable accommodation in its facilities, services, programs, communications, electronic and information technologies, and employment for qualified individuals with disabilities. As the World Wide Web has become an essential means by which we provide information to and conduct transactions with our community, our goal is to provide information and services in ways that work effectively for all.

The City and County of Denver strives to deploy electronic and information technology products that incorporate universal design and device-independent principles so that they are accessible and usable by the most diverse audience possible. Products should meet Section 508 and the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) WCAG 1.0 Priority 1 and 2 guidelines or newer, as outlined in the city's accessible technology initiative at www.denvergov.org/accessibility.
