A proposal has been floated to raze Boettcher Concert Hall in the Performing Arts Complex.  A bad idea culturally, historically, financially and one not in the best interests of the citizens and taxpayers of Denver.  But there is more to the story than the destruction of a cultural facility.

A performance audit of the Minority and Women Business Enterprise Program identified a number of problems and issues that need to be rectified.  As part of the recommendations, the audit noted that eight of sixteen recommendations from the previous audit of the program had never been implemented and those same recommendations are again being made.

The Denver Sheriff's Department has refused a legitimate data request related to the audit of the department.  Under the City Charter, the Auditor is to have unfettered access to city records and documents.  The Auditor has sent a letter to the Mayor objecting to the refusal and noting that the refusal violates the Charter.
