Councilwoman Jeanne Robb, Councilwoman Carla Madison and Denver Parks and Recreation will host an open house to gather public input on site selection for a new recreation center in the central Denver area.  The public will be asked to discuss their preferences for use of “Better Denver” bond dollars for either new construction surrounding the Congress Park pool or land acquisition. In early April 2008, the Department of Parks and Recreation conducted an initial public meeting about the planning process for this future facility. Through the ‘Better Denver’ bond program, approved by Denver voters in November 2007, a total of $11 million was designated for land acquisition and design services for a new recreation center in the central Denver area.
