The Better Denver Program – approved by Denver voters in 2007 – is a comprehensive effort to invest in the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the many city facilities that touch our lives, as well as the construction of new city facilities.
In 2007, Denver’s citizens passed the ballot initiatives that established this program and its bond financing to make a better Denver for everyone. Through this program, we can improve, preserve, renovate, and build new roads, libraries, parks, hospitals, public safety facilities, cultural facilities, and more.
The City of Denver is committed to delivering these projects in record time over a five-year implementation phase (2008-2012). Over 68 projects are slated for design and construction with the following goals in mind:
To strive for efficient and timely delivery of each project |
To incorporate public art and sustainable/environmental approaches in each project |
To provide opportunities for public comments and input |
To encourage minority- and women-owned business participation in project work |
To minimize impacts and inconveniences to the public from project activities |
