The Better Denver Program – approved by Denver voters in 2007 –  is a comprehensive effort to invest in the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the many city facilities that touch our lives, as well as the construction of new city facilities.

In 2007, Denver’s citizens passed the ballot initiatives that established this program and its bond financing to make a better Denver for everyone.  Through this program, we can improve, preserve, renovate, and build new roads, libraries, parks, hospitals, public safety facilities, cultural facilities, and more.

The City of Denver is committed to delivering these projects in record time over a five-year implementation phase (2008-2012). Over 68 projects are slated for design and construction with the following goals in mind:

icon To strive for efficient and timely delivery of each project
icon To incorporate public art and sustainable/environmental approaches in each project
icon To provide opportunities for public comments and input
icon To encourage minority- and women-owned business participation in project work
icon To minimize impacts and inconveniences to the public from project activities

 Message from the Mayor
Mayor John W Hickenlooper
Welcome to the new Better Denver website. Our goal is to provide you with timely, accurate information on the 68 main projects and the many additional sub-projects that are part of this voter-approved program.  Our ambitious goal is to complete all projects within five years, so you should see plenty of activity – in terms of public information meetings, construction activity and updates.  We welcome your questions, comments and suggestions along the way as we continually strive for the most efficient and effective ways to implement this important program and share updated information with the community.

Thank you for supporting the ballot questions that provided the funding for these projects.  We appreciate your continued commitment to investing in Denver’s future and providing the infrastructure to support and enhance our economic vitality and quality-of-life.
