Club License

Issued to non-profit corporation which has been in existence for no less than three years and which has had a dues-paying membership for at least three years,and has occupied a premises operated for objects of national, social , fraternal, patriotic, political, or athletic nature, but not for financial gain; or

A corporation that is a regularly chartered branch of a national organization (e.g.: Elks Lodge, V.F.W.)

Requirements

  • Sale, service and consumption of beer, wine, and liquor by the drink for on-premises consumption only to members of such club and members' guests
  • Need not have food or meals available
Seven days a week between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. only during productions
  • Investigation into the qualification of only the corporate president and the club manager is required in determining the character of the corporate applicant.
  • At the public hearing for approval of the club licenses, the burden shifts from the reasonable requirements (needs) of the neighborhood and desires of its inhabitants to desires only.  [CRS 12-47-312(2)(a)].

 

Multiple financial interests are allowed with this class of license and the following:

  • In other club liquor licenses
  • Hotel and restaurant licenses
  • Tavern licenses
  • Brew pub licenses
  • Arts licenses
  • Racetrack licenses
  • Public transportation system licenses
  • Optional premises licenses
  • Retail gaming tavern licenses
  • Vintner's restaurant license.

 

A 500 foot distance restriction from public and parochial schools, colleges, universities, and seminaries applies to new club licenses.

The distance restriction does not apply to any club located within the principal campus of a college, university or seminary if its membership is limited tot he faculty or staff of said institution.

Application Fees:

State - $1025.00

City - $750.00

 

Fees for the Managers:

State - $75.00

City - $75.00 

$38.50 for fingerprinting (Managers)

 

License fees will be calculated at the time the permanent license is issued.

A list of the names of all mangers of club licenses provided to the state and local licensing authorities.

Additional documents may be required for this class of license.  Check with the Department of Excise and Licenses for specific requirements.

  • The name of the club manager must be provided to the local and state licensing authorities whether a principal to the licensee manages the licensed premises or someone else manages. 
  • Any changes in managers of club licenses must be reported to both the City and the State within 30 days of the change in manager.
  • A $100.00 background investigation fee will be assessed for any changes in  the licensee's president and manager.
  • Managers must complete the full set of fingerprints
