Denver residents and businesses that wish to operate a security alarm must obtain a City-issued permit and have the alarm monitored by a licensed monitoring company.   Go to the Alarms Division of the Department of Excise and Licenses to learn more.

Business License Complaint Form 

If you have a complaint or concern about a business operating in Denver, please complete the Business License Complaint Form and return it to our Department.  We will investigate any complaint regarding the business licenses that we issue for the City and County of Denver.

 

Check the Public Hearing Calendar for dates and times for the public hearing for proposed liquor and cabaret licenses.

While you’re complying with Denver’s business requirements, you can also review the state business requirements by clicking the Colorado Secretary of State’s checklist for new businesses.

Effective July 1, 2011 there are changes to the Medical Marijuana License. 

• Medical Marijuana Dispensary License will be replaced with Medical Marijuana Center License  
• Two new license types will be issued:
  • Medical Marijuana Optional Cultivation Premises
  • Medical Marijuana Infused Products Manufacturer

 With our complete cooperation, this group has been formed in order to provide status updates, answer questions and solicit input.
