Know a youth looking for some summer cash and job skills development?  Then look no further – the Office of Economic Development is seeking applications for the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).  SYEP’s goals are to empower Denver youth with job training and work experience so that they can explore their career aspirations.

SYEP partners with local non-profits to provide job readiness training and placement within targeted industry clusters.  The five industrial clusters are; accommodation & food services, healthcare & social assistance, professional & business services/retail sales, and skilled trades.  In addition to focusing on job development the program hopes to direct youth towards continued education whether that is completing a GED, obtaining a trade, or secondary education.

To participate in the program you must be 14-21 years of age and a resident of the City and County of Denver.  So pass this on to your family and friends.  You can even like their Facebook page and share it with the youth in your life.
