City Council is seeking a qualified individual to represent Council on the City’s Audit Committee for a four-year term beginning in January 2012.
Purpose: The purpose of the Audit Committee is to assist City officials in oversight of the City’s financial and operational results, including the integrity of the City’s financial statements, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, risk management and the performance of internal and external auditors.
Qualifications: Interested individuals cannot hold any other office or be employed with the City and County of Denver. Members must not have relationships that would interfere with the exercise of independent judgment. By Charter, members are appointed on the basis of education or experience in accounting, auditing, financial management, or related fields of expertise.
Meetings: Are held on the Third Thursday each month in the Parr-Widener conference room in the City and County Building, 1437 Bannock. Meetings begin at 8:00 in the morning and generally run for 2 hours.
