Under/Over Votes

  • Undervote: Occurs when a contest remains unvoted.
  • Overvote: Occurs when more than one selection (or more than the maximum number of selections allowed) is voted in a contest. When this occurs, no votes in that race are counted.

Write-In Votes

Write-in votes must be hand counted and hand tabulated by bipartisan teams. Write-in totals are available in the PDFs just above.
 
You may note that these vote totals will vary from the write-in vote totals on this page to the left. This is because the high-speed ballot scanners will count the write-in line for a race anytime a voter votes the write-in line for that race on the ballot. However, state law provides that write-in votes may be tabulated only for bona fide write-in candidates who have filed their write-in candidacy with the Colorado Secretary of State, or in the case of Denver municipal elections, with the Denver Elections Division.
 
Therefore, only votes for the candidates in the Write-In PDFs above will actually be tabulated and recorded in the official election results.
