This project involves several main components of work: roadway reconstruction, traffic signal replacement and a storm sewer outfall. The road reconstruction is concrete paving on University Blvd. from 6th Ave. to Cherry Creek North Drive and Josephine St. from 1st Ave. to 2nd Ave., and new traffic signals at all intersections on University Blvd. and Josephine St. from 1st Ave. to 6th Ave.

The Work generally consists of the design, fabrication, painting and erection of a simple span, steel combined arch and truss pedestrian bridge with a reinforced concrete deck spanning over Interstate 25, and associated approach ramps.  The main span over I-25 is over 300 feet in length.  The approach ramps will be prestressed concrete box girders.  The Work also includes utility work and coordination, storm sewer installation, roadway work, signage and stripping, lighting, coordination with the public and the project neighbors, and all traffic control necessary to construct the project.

The contractor shall install End of Road Barricades with either contractor supplied or city supplied Type III 10 foot long Hollow Plastic panels, and end of road markers with complete posts, supports, fittings and concrete bases, where requiredin accordance with the City and County of Denver Traffic Standard Drawings as well as the state of Colorado Standard specification for road and Bridge Construction 2011 edition (Green Book).

A:  Visit www.work4denver.com main page. Click on the project you are interested in, scroll to and click on the “Digital Download” link which will direct you to the QuestCDN website to view the plans and specifications at no charge.  A fee of $25 is required to download the bid documents, plans and specifications.

Q:  I am interested in submitting a bid on a project that has a W/WBE, SBE or DBE goal assigned to it.  Where can I find certified firms?

Q:
Are pre-bid meetings mandatory?
A:  It can vary from project to project; refer to the Advertisement for Pre-Bid specifics.

Q:
  Where can I find a list of prime contractors or consultants that may be bidding or proposing on a project?
A:  All Public Works projects are advertised on www.work4denver.com, the “Digital Download” link in the advertisement will take you to QuestCDN where you can view the list of plan holders who have registered with their contact information.

Q: If I am unable to attend a bid opening where can I obtain information regarding bids that were submitted?
A: Bid summaries are generally posted within two (2) business days of the advertised bid opening


Q:
When will a bid tabulation be available for a previously bid project?
A:  Bid tabulations are posted once the City has received a signed contract from the apparent low bidder. Bid tabulations are not posted if it was a lump sum bid.  For those, refer to the Bid Summary.
