General Statement of Work: The intent of the project is to install a new programmable lighting system that will highlight historical features of the Ellie’s three exposed exterior facades. The system will consist of LED fixtures of various types attached to the exterior of the building and controlled in various zones by a programmable control system. Conduit and cabling will be run from electrical closets inside the Ellie through various interior spaces to the exterior to power and control the lighting systems. Light demolition and repair of interior finishes, installation of electrical systems, weatherproofing and/or fireproofing of penetrations, and carefully drilling through and mechanically fastening components to the historic façade will be necessary.

The exterior of the Ellie is part of its Historic Landmark status and the work must be completed carefully with required skilled labor force and tools to not damage the façade per the provided specifications and required procedures. The paths through interior finishes have limited or no access via chases, access panels, or empty conduits / raceways.

Minority and Women Business Enterprise Participation:  There is no goal for the RFQ, but there will be a 15% M/WBE goal applied to the hard bid, Stage 2 under this RFQ.

General:  As the City’s best interests may appear, the Manager of Public Works reserves the right to waive informalities in, and to reject any or all, proposals.
