Denver Animal Protection (DAP) is proposing revisions to much of Chapter 8 – Animal Ordinances. DAP has several reasons for these proposed updates:
Revisions do not include any changes to the breed ban section of the ordinance, and the stakeholder process will not explore or consider changes to this section.
As part of the revision process, DAP has assembled a Stakeholder Committee composed of representatives of the Denver community to advise on the proposed revisions.
The Stakeholder Committee will promote information-sharing, discussion and consensus-based recommendations on the revisions proposed by DAP.
Monthly meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month and take place in the publicly accessible Denver Animal Protection Community Room located at 1241 W. Bayaud Ave. Locations and agendas will be posted prior to meetings. Time is set aside at the end of each meeting for public questions.
