2015 Budget Highlights

At this spring’s City Council Budget Retreat, Council members discussed and agreed on top budget priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.  In addition to funding that addresses the top priorities identified by Council, including increased transit connections, additional resources for the creation and preservation of affordable housing, and the expedited implementation of Denver’s Solid Waste Master Plan, Mayor Hancock's proposed 2015 Budget dedicates funding toward important public safety issues, including reforms to the Sheriff Department and body-worn cameras for all police officers who interact with the public.

IHO Public Hearing at Council Meeting Aug 18

There will be a one hour courtesy public hearing on proposed revisions to the Inclusionary Housing Ordinance at the City Council meeting on Monday, August 18, starting at 5:30 pm.  Speakers will need to be present to sign up, and sign up will occur after regularly council business.  The public hearing will be the third on the agenda, so please plan and park accordingly.

Fresh Produce and Cottage Food Sales in the News

City residents will now be allowed to sell from their homes fresh produce and “cottage foods” that they grow and make themselves, thanks to an amendment to the Denver Zoning Code adopted by Denver City Council.
