Starting in the spring of next year, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) in partnership with the City and County of Denver and Colorado Bridge Enterprise, will replace five bridges along US 6, starting with Federal Boulevard and going east. This will be the largest CDOT project in the entire state which, along with the replacements, will include a new pedestrian bridge to connect Barnum Park to Barnum Park North.
Other improvements that we can look forward to include additional park space in Barnum Park East and improved entrance access to US 6 going east from Federal. Our office will continue to work with CDOT to ensure that many of those jobs come to the residents of the neighborhoods that will be most affected.
As always, this is dangerous work and CDOT would like to remind motorists to obey all construction signs, flaggers and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
