First up is Respect…a Musical Journey of Women. Classic Top 40 hits are the soundtrack behind stories of real women from co-dependent to independent. The show looks at how popular music has depicted women over the decades from “Someone to Watch Over Me” to “I Will Survive.” Mid-20th Century songs asked women to love men no matter what; later, songs like “You Don’t Own Me” and “These Boots Were Made for Walking” gave women themes of inner strength. “The Greatest Love of All,” “Hero” and many more songs show how far women, and the men who love them, have come. Among regional theatres, CCT is the first to perform the most current version of Respect now playing Off-Broadway. Don’t miss this popular, exhilarating, toe-tapping show filled with the songs you know by heart. This one will sell out fast. February 1- 25th.

Springtime in Paris comes to Denver April 5-29 with A Picasso. The year though is 1941 and German occupation forces have dragged Picasso from his favorite café to a dark basement for interrogation. The avant-garde artist and the Third Reich square off in a thrilling power play, and tensions rise as sex, lies and politics collide.

In autumn, a natural time for reflection, the play is My Name Is Asher Lev, adapted from the Chaim Potok novel. This drama explores the struggle between tradition and individualism, between faith and art. Awarded New York’s Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play by the Outer Critics Circle, this show is both heartbreaking and triumphant as a vision of what it means to be an artist. October 18-November 11.
