Denver Office of Economic Development Names New Chief Business Development Officer

The Denver Office of Economic Development (OED) has announced the hiring of Deborah Cameron for the new Chief Business Development Officer position. Cameron will lead the OED’s business attraction and retention efforts, directing efforts across the business development, global business, and workforce development teams. She will oversee a group of approximately 40 staff focused on growing and sustaining Denver businesses.

Street Paving Rolls Out in Downtown Denver this Week

Street paving season is in full swing in Denver, and this week, Denver Public Works paving crews will roll to Downtown Denver to improve approximately 85 blocks! Crews will work to complete each street as quickly as possible and minimize impacts to traffic, residents and businesses. The work downtown is expected to begin today and last through mid-September.

Denver Proposes Temporary Rental and Utility Assistance Program Extension and Expansion

At today’s Safety, Housing, Education and Homelessness Committee meeting, the Denver Office of Economic Development (OED) is proposing to extend and expand the Temporary Rental and Utility Assistance program (TRUA), an emergency assistance program for residents facing a housing crisis. The TRUA program, which served more than 500 households during a pilot phase this past November through March, is currently being considered by Denver City Council for an extension through December 31, 2018.

As students from 26 Denver schools hit the streets on May 9 in celebration of National Bike to School Day, Denver Department of Public Health & Environment, Police, and Public Works are teaming up to remind all residents to stay safe and alert on our city’s streets.
