Multimodal Advisory Committee Welcomes Inaugural Members

Mayor Michael B. Hancock today welcomed the inaugural members of his Multimodal Advisory Committee (MMAC). The newly formed committee will play an integral role in the implementation of Mayor Hancock’s Mobility Action Plan, which aims to increase mobility options, improve safety, address climate change, improve public health and create smart connections.

City Seeks Public Input on Draft Federal Action Plan for Housing and Community Development Programs

The Denver Office of Economic Development is seeking public input and comment to its proposed 2018 federal Action Plan for local housing, economic development, public service, and neighborhood facilities programs that utilize federal funds. Public meetings will be held on Thursday, May 10 from 4:30-6 p.m. in the Wellington Webb Building, 201 W. Colfax, Rooms 4.F.6-4.G.2; and on Wednesday, June 6 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Montbello Recreation Center, 15555 E. 53rd Ave., Community Room.

Maintenance Work Planned for 15th Street Bridge

Denver Public Works is working hard this summer to keep its bridge infrastructure in good shape, with maintenance scheduled to begin this weekend on the 15th Street Bridge over the South Platte River. A full closure of 15th Street will be required on Saturday, April 28, for the work and traffic will be detoured to Little Raven Street, 19th Street, and Platte Street.

Chief of Police Robert C. White to Retire

After more than six years of leading the Denver Police Department, Mayor Michael B. Hancock today announced that Chief of Police Robert C. White will be retiring, and will officially depart from his role upon the appointment of the next police chief.

Denver City and County Building Illuminated for Earth Day

The tower of Denver’s City and County Building will go green on Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22 in honor of the 48th annual Earth Day celebration. Energy-efficient LED lights will turn the tower into a symbol of the City’s extensive work to protect Denver’s environment and natural resources through efforts aimed at air quality, water quality, low-carbon transportation, energy efficiency, business sustainability and more. Residents can enjoy the Earth Day tribute from 6-11 p.m. on both evenings.
