Voter-approved funding increase benefiting the Denver Preschool Program to take effect January 1

The funding increase approved by Denver voters in the November election to expand the Denver Preschool Program is set to take effect January 1, 2015. Referred measure 2A, which reauthorized the original funding source for the Denver Preschool Program and authorized a .03 percent increase, will allow the Denver Preschool Program to continue the program for another 10 years as well as expand programming, reach more preschool students and reduce costs for families through an increase in monthly tuition support.

  • Thursday, December 25th for the Christmas Day holiday; and
  • Thursday, January 1st for the New Year's Day holiday

The City and County of Denver Sales and Use Tax Standard rate will increase from 3.62% to 3.65% effective January 1, 2015

Businesses should begin preparation to their systems to ensure collection of the proper amount of tax.

Deputy Assessor Keith Erffmeyer named Denver’s next Assessor

Denver—Deputy Assessor Keith Erffmeyer was named this week Denver’s next Assessor. Erffmeyer, who had been serving as Acting Assessor since the retirement of Paul Jacobs in March, began his career with the city in 1994 in the Assessor’s Office and rose to become the city’s newest Assessor.

Denver announces close of successful Denver Mini-Bond sale due to strong demand

Denver – The City and County of Denver announced this morning that the sale period for its recently announced Denver Mini-Bonds is now closed due to strong demand. These unique investments were made possible by voter approval of the 2007 Better Denver Bond Program and were offered only to Colorado state residents.
