Brighton Blvd. to Close Between 44th St. and I-70 for Storm Sewer Improvements

DENVER — Reconstruction along Brighton Boulevard is progressing, and next week, crews will begin to install storm sewer lines to improve drainage in the area. Starting Monday, January 29, the work will require northbound and southbound Brighton Boulevard to close from 44th Street to the I-70 ramps. The closure is expected to be in place until May 2018.

Please note, I-70 ramps will remain open while work is underway, with left turns only permitted from the eastbound I-70 off-ramp to Brighton Boulevard. Detours will be in place (a map is also attached).

Detour Routes

  • Southbound Brighton: go west on 46th Avenue to 44th Street to reconnect with Brighton Boulevard.
  • Northbound Brighton: go west on 44th Street to 46th Avenue to reconnect with Brighton Boulevard.

The public’s patience and cooperation are greatly appreciated. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.

About the Project
The Brighton Boulevard Redevelopment Project, managed by the North Denver Cornerstone Collaborative (NDCC) in partnership with Denver Public Works, is constructing critical public infrastructure from 29th to 44th Streets, adding protected bike lanes, continuous sidewalks, and new landscaping. The first segment of reconstruction along Brighton, from 29th to 40th Streets, is expected to be complete late spring.
