In Fall 2015, Denver Public Works installed two parking-protected bike lanes downtown, creating enhanced bicycle connections between Auraria Campus and 24th Street. The existing bike lanes on these streets were reconfigured to create a designated parking lane next to the buffered bike lane against the curb.
The Colorado Center Pedestrian/Bicycle Bridge opened to the public in July 2015, meeting the need for pedestrian and bicycle access over Interstate 25 at Colorado Boulevard and East Evans Avenue. The arch‐type structure spanning I-25 has access ramps on each end, landing at Cherry Street to the north and RTD’s Colorado Station (light rail transit) to the south.
The City and County of Denver, City of Aurora and Regional Transportation District (RTD) constructed an overpass (bridge) on Peoria Street between East 39th Avenue and Baranmor Parkway.
This study examined transportation infrastructure recommendations from the 2011 NDNP study to prioritize projects and identify implementation strategies for projects that are feasible and/or appropriate.
