DENVER – GIVE Denver, a program of Denver Human Services (DHS), today launched the 2016 Adopt a Family, Teen or Senior Holiday Gift Drive. Each year, GIVE Denver pairs donors with hundreds of families, teens and seniors served by DHS Child Welfare, Veteran Services and Adult Protection programs. The GIVE Denver Adopt a Family, Teen or Senior Holiday Gift Drive ensures that those served by DHS enjoy the spirit of the holiday season regardless of their financial or family situation.
“Each year, we are overjoyed with the generosity our community shows toward people who may struggle to afford holiday gifts for their children or loved ones or who may not otherwise receive them at all,” DHS Executive Director Don Mares said. “We appreciate the donors who give generously every year and encourage others who may not have given in the past to help us spread the holiday cheer even further this year.”
Since 2011 the annual holiday gift drive has served more than 5,500 people. In 2015, donors provided holiday gifts to 284 families, 87 teens and 130 seniors.
