DHS Launches 2017 Adopt-a-Family, Teen, or Senior Holiday Gift Drive

Drive provides gifts to children, families, teens, and seniors served by Denver Human Services programs

DENVER – Nov. 2, 2017 – The season of giving is underway at Denver Human Services (DHS) with the launch of the 2017 GIVE Denver Adopt-a-Family, Teen, or Senior Holiday Gift Drive. Now in its seventh year, the annual holiday gift drive pairs donors in the community with hundreds of families, teens, and seniors receiving services from DHS programs. The drive ensures holiday gifts find their way to children, families, teens, and seniors served by DHS regardless of their financial or family situation.

“Denver Human Services provides resources to one in three Denver residents, many of whom are struggling to make ends meet, and without the generous support of our community, may not be able to enjoy the gifts of the holiday season,” DHS Executive Director Don Mares said. “We appreciate our donors who give year after year to make the holiday season a little brighter for our neighbors in need and encourage others who may not have given in the past to help us spread the holiday cheer even further this year.”

The annual holiday gift drive has served more than 5,800 people since its launch in 2011. In 2016, GIVE Denver provided holiday gifts to more than 374 families, teens and seniors served by DHS. This year, GIVE Denver hopes donations will result in holiday gifts for even more people in need.

There are three easy ways to donate:
