The City of Denver recently implemented a security enhancement to better protect our online payment processing system.  As a result of this enhancement, we are no longer able to accept payments from non-current browsers. Changes to Marijuana Occupancy Policy

Denver Community Planning & Development has updated its building code policy to establish criteria around the correct building occupancy classification for marijuana stores and centers that are expanding or remodeling.


Review the updated marijuana occupancy policy 

The policy now specifies when an existing marijuana store/center undergoing an expansion or alterations must design and build based on a "Group M" occupancy. New stores permitted after August 2016 are already Group M.

The change in occupancy process is only triggered by work happening in the store – either an increase in square footage, expansion into an adjacent space that wasn’t part of the store originally, or a level three alteration as defined by the International Existing Building Code where the area of work exceeds 50 percent of the tenant space. Additional provisions are spelled out in the policy.
