Denver Solicits Nominations for Healthy Communities Awards

Nominations for Outstanding Leaders in Public and Environmental Health Accepted through Feb. 17

Do you know an outstanding community partner that’s working to build healthy communities in Denver? We want to know about it.

Denver Environmental Health is excited to host the third annual Denver Healthy Communities Awards (HCA) to recognize exemplary public and private organizations and partners that are leading the way in public and environmental health.

The HCAs focus is on organizations, projects or individuals engaged in efforts to protect and/or improve Denver’s environment (clean air, land, and water), promote healthy people through improved food or child safety, access to healthy food, healthy built environments, or activities that promote healthy pets and improve the lives of animals, or in the community at-large.

Nominations will be accepted through Feb. 17 at www.denvergov.org/HCAwards in the following categories:

  • Public and Environmental Health Innovation Award
  • Excellence in Compliance Award
  • Public and Environmental Health Good Neighbor Award

Nominees can include public, nonprofit and private organizations, and individuals. City agencies are not eligible to apply.

Winners will be announced at a recognition event during the week of April 4 during National Public Health Week.
