DENVER – Most City and County of Denver offices will be closed Wednesday, July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
Due to the holiday, the Mayor’s Office, City Council offices, Clerk and Recorder’s Office, Auditor’s Office and most city agencies will be closed. Partner entities such as Denver Health will remain open Wednesday, July 4, as will agencies that operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, such as Denver International Airport. Sworn members of the Denver Sheriff, Police and Fire departments and other emergency responders will report for duty Wednesday, July 4 as well.

3-1-1 INFORMATION LINE, DENVERGOV.ORG AND DENVER 8 TV
3-1-1, the city’s information line for non-emergency services will be closed Wednesday, July 4. Service requests may be submitted via mobile device using Pocketgov or online at denvergov.org/denver311. Updates are available continuously on www.denvergov.org. ANIMAL SHELTER & ANIMAL CONTROL
The Denver Animal Shelter will be closed on Wednesday, July 4. Animal Control Officers will be available to respond to emergencies and enforce city regulations.
The Auditor’s Office will be closed Wednesday, July 4.
BUILDING AND ZONING PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS
Building and Zoning permit counters will be closed Wednesday, July 4. No building inspections will be scheduled that day.
The Denver City Council central office located in the City and County Building will be closed Tuesday, July 3 and all City Council officers will be closed Wednesday, July 4. There will be no meetings of City Council the week of July 2.
CITY-OWNED GOLF FACILITIES
Golf courses will be open on Wednesday, July 4, weather permitting.
CLERK & RECORDER AND MARRIAGE LICENSES
The Office of the Clerk and Recorder – including marriage licensing, the Public Trustee, Records and Recording – will be closed Wednesday, July 4.
The Denver County Court will be closed Wednesday, July 4. The Denver County Court will not be hosting an Outreach Court session at the Denver Rescue Mission on Wednesday, July 4 due to the Independence Day holiday. All state-operated courts, including the Denver District Court, Juvenile Court and Probate Court located in the City and County Building, will be closed.
DENVER ARTS & VENUES
All properties managed by Denver Arts & Venues, including Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, the Denver Performing Arts Complex, Colorado Convention Center and Denver Coliseum, will be open for scheduled events and performances. Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, including the Visitor Center, Trading Post and Ship Rock Grille, will be open to visitors during regular hours. McNichols Civic Center Building will be closed Wednesday, July 4.
DENVER COUNTY MOTOR VEHICLE OFFICES
The five Denver County Motor Vehicle office locations will be closed Wednesday, July 4. For vehicle renewal online, visit the Denver Motor Vehicle website or pocketgov.com.
DENVER HUMAN SERVICES
Denver Human Services will be closed Wednesday, July 4, however the child and adult protection emergency response teams and telephone hotlines will be open and taking calls. To report suspected child abuse or neglect call 1-844-CO-4-KIDS (1-844-264-5437) from anywhere in Colorado. To report elder abuse for an adult 70 years and older or the abuse, neglect or exploitation of an adult with an intellectual or developmental disability, call the Denver Police Department at 720-913-2000. For all other adult protection calls, please call 720-944-4DHS (4347).
The Denver Elections Division will be closed Wednesday, July 4.
EXCISE & LICENSES
Excise and Licenses’ customer service counters and offices will be closed Wednesday, July 4.
All Denver Public Library locations will be closed Wednesday, July 4. Many of the library's resources remain available when the buildings are closed. For more information, visit www.denverlibrary.org.
OFFICE OF HUMAN RESOURCES TALENT ACQUISITION TESTING
The Office of Human Resources Talent Acquisition Testing Center will be closed Wednesday, July 4. Applicants will still be able to search and apply for open positions at www.denvergov.org/jobs.
OFFICE OF THE MEDICAL EXAMINER (CORONER)
The Office of the Medical Examiner (Coroner) will be closed Wednesday, July 4. Office staff will be available to respond to emergencies.
PARKING METERS, CASHIERS AND MAGISTRATE
Parking meters are free on Sundays and on recognized city holidays, and will be free Wednesday, July 4. Drivers are reminded to observe the time restrictions posted and to follow all normal parking regulations all other days.
The Parking Cashier counter and the Parking Magistrate’s office will be closed Wednesday, July 4. Parking violations may be disputed online at www.parksmartdenver.com – the citation number printed on the ticket is required. Payment may also be made by any of the following options:
PUBLIC WORKS PERMIT COUNTERS
Public Works’ permit counters and the Right Of Way Enforcement office will be closed Wednesday, July 4.
All Denver Recreation Centers will be closed on Wednesday, July 4.
TRASH, RECYCLING & COMPOST COLLECTION
Trash, recycling and composting will not be collected on Wednesday, July 4. Collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.
VEHICLE IMPOUND FACILITY
The Vehicle Impound Facility, 5160 York St., will be closed Wednesday, July 4.
The Wastewater Management Building, 2000 W. 3rd Ave., will be closed Wednesday, July 4.
All Denver Workforce Centers will be closed Wednesday, July 4. The city’s online hiring system will be available at www.denvergov.org/jobs.
