DENVER – The Office of Children’s Affairs is seeking grant proposals to provide support for Denver Comprehensive Out-of-School Time (OST) Programs.
The 2A Comprehensive OST Programs RFP is for a multi-year grant cycle from January 1, 2015 – August 31, 2017, pending availability of funds and a non-competitive renewable grant process. The maximum amount of funds expected over the grant cycle is $1,150,000.00. Proposals are due Thursday, September 18, 2014, and full copies of the RFP can be downloaded HERE.
More than four decades of research shows that OST activities contribute significantly to students’ educational success, including marked improvements in academic achievement, student engagement, school attendance, and social and emotional development.
Funds must be used to support direct program services for school-age (K-12) children and youth during non-school hours. Funds can be used to:
Ideally, programs will leverage funds available through this RFP to provide a large number of multi-age children and youth with a variety of academic and youth development activities for a minimum of 4-5 days per week, and a minimum of 12 hours per week, for at least 30 weeks during the school year and a minimum of six weeks during the summer at no or very minimal cost to families.
An informational session will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014, from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver Program Support, 2017 W. 9th Ave. Questions should be submitted in writing to 2ARFPSubmissions@denvergov.org by Monday, August 18, 2014. Questions received via email and at the information session will be posted on-line by Noon on August 28, 2014 at www.denvergov.org/childrensaffairs. No additional questions will be allowed after August 28, 2014. A required letter of intent to apply is due by 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2014.

Please note that an additional RFP opportunity for out-of-school time programs that do not qualify for the 2A Comprehensive OST Programs RFP will be released in October 2014, with funds available for the 2015 calendar year.
