Youth Career Exploration Day! Discover the Professional World of the Arts, Museums and the Zoo

The Office of Children’s Affairs is opening the door for youth, ages 13-16, to learn about career opportunities at the Denver Art Museum, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, the Denver Zoo and Denver Arts & Venues. This free event includes tours, interactive fun, hands-on STEAM activities and lunch!

The City and County of Denver tradition of the City Spirit Shuffle will continue at this year’s City Spirit events! In 2016, Denver International Airport took the prize for best shuffle. Last year, Denver Human Services claimed the trophy. Who will claim the prize this year? Employees are encouraged to learn the steps and shuffle at their event. Wednesday, August 15, 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., Webb Building

Seats are still available for the city’s STARS Orientation being held at the Webb Building. The two-hour STARS Orientation is required for new employees and new managers. The orientation is now being offered onsite for Denver Human Services (DHS) and Denver International Airport (DEN) employees. Save time, gas and the hassle of parking when you enroll through CityU for the DHS or DEN orientation.

Denver Department of Public Health and Environment (DDPHE) signed the Energy Future Partnership with Xcel Energy to help Denver meet climate and energy goals through clean and renewable technology, energy efficiency, electric vehicles and grid resilience. Xcel Energy and DDPHE encourage residents to enroll in Renewable Connect to achieve renewable energy goals. The program delivers clean, affordable solar energy with no equipment necessary. You can choose your subscription length and amount of renewable energy. Plus, benefit from the low cost with the potential to save money from clean, local energy from a 50 MW solar resource.

Farm Stand Returns to the Webb!

Each week, seasonal, local organic produce and eggs will be available for purchase at affordable prices for employees and the community. The produce is grown at the Denver Botanical Gardens in partnership with the Veterans to Farmers program, a program that trains veterans in farming techniques and business management and also provides resources for health, mental health and other veteran services.

The Denver Employee Bulletin (DEB) is produced weekly by the Office of Human Resources. All information to be included in the DEB must be approved by the department/agency public information officer, communications team or department/agency leadership.

Submissions must be sent via the DEB Submission form by the Friday prior to the next week’s publication. The DEB is published weekly, every Tuesday in the late afternoon. Most DEB content will play on #CCDigital signage. Email questions to the Denver Employee Bulletin.
