Free One-Day Paint Recycling Event to be Held on Saturday, June 23, 2018

 

PaintCare will be holding a one-day paint drop-off event open to all Colorado residents and businesses at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 8 AM to 3 PM. This is a FREE event, but participants are encouraged to select an appointment time to minimize traffic line wait times.

Residents may bring most types of paint, stain and varnish to this event. Businesses that generate less than 220 pounds (about 20-30 gallons) of hazardous waste per month may bring any amount of latex or oil-based paint. Businesses that generate more than 220 pounds of hazardous waste per month may bring any amount of latex paint, but oil-based paint will not be accepted.

 

ACCEPTED

  • House paint and primers (latex or oil-based)
  • Stains
  • Deck and concrete sealers
  • Clear finishes (e.g., varnishes, shellac)

NOT ACCEPTED

  • No leaking, unlabeled or empty containers
  • No aerosol spray paints
  • No drums or containers larger than 5 gallons
  • No other hazardous waste or chemicals, such as paint thinner, solvents, motor oil, spackle, glue, adhesive, roofing tar, pesticides, cleaning chemicals

 

 

Paint manufacturers created PaintCare, a non-profit organization, to set up convenient places for you to recycle leftover paint. PaintCare has drop-off sites throughout the Denver Metro area and Colorado where residents can take smaller amounts of paint all year long.
