The Department of Environmental Health is holding three public hearings on Sept. 8 at 5:30 p.m. at 200 W. 14th Avenue, 2nd floor, Grand Mesa conference room on the following rules and regulations pertaining to animals:
- A public hearing (continued from August 11, 2011) regarding the proposed adoption of Rules And Regulations Governing Food Producing Animals. The proposal defines adequate shelter and fencing.
- A public hearing (continued from August 11, 2011) regarding the proposed amendment to Rules and Regulations Governing Establishment of Animal Service Fees The proposal is for a one-time $25 license fee, specific to the owner and address, for food producing animals (chicken, duck, pygmy goat).
- A public hearing regarding the proposed amendment to Rules and Regulations Governing Establishment of Animal Service Fees. The proposal is for a $150 fee for a dog/cat license that will be valid for the pet’s lifetime; and, extends the senior discount to one dog or cat lifetime license.
Any change to meeting location will be posted prior to the meeting on the BEH web site (www.denvergov.org/beh).
Please notify us online at BEH@Denvergov.org of your intent to speak at the public hearing no later than Wednesday, September 7, 2011 and/or submit comments in writing to BEH@Denvergov.org by September 7, 2011.
