Vaccination Information: 

According to Denver Law, rabies vaccinations are required for all Denver pets. 
  

Where and when can I get my pet vaccinated?

  • We do not vaccinate Pit Bull breeds or any dog mixed with a Pit Bull breed, even if you reside in another county. 
  • Vaccination clinics are open to everyone.  
  • You do not have to be a resident of the City and County of Denver to receive a vaccination for your pet. If you are a resident of the City and County of Denver, a dog or cat license is included with the cost of the vaccination.
  • Kittens and puppies under 3 months of age will only receive the distemper/parvo or feline distemper vaccination. When your pet is old enough, you may bring it back for the rabies vaccination.  You will be required to pay for the rabies vaccination when you return for vaccination.
  • Your pet will not receive a vaccination if it is sick, pregnant, or nursing.
  • Please muzzle pets that may be vicious or unpredictable toward people or other animals.

 

The Denver Animal Shelter rabies vaccination clinic is open to the public during the following hours:

Dogs:    Wednesdays from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Dogs & Cats:     Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to Noon

                         (All other services refer to hours of operation)

                               

Please have your dog on a leash when you arrive for rabies clinic and your cat in a carrier and/or pet taxi.

 

You may pay by cash, check, Visa or MasterCard.

  • $35- includes rabies vaccination, distemper/parvo and a (1) one year license for Denver County residents or out of county residents that use Denver dog parks. 
  • $55- includes a three year rabies vaccination (must have proof of prior year rabies vaccinations), distemper/parvo and a (3) three year license for Denver County residents or out of county residents that use Denver dog parks.
Other Services

  • $15- 1-year license (new / renew)
  • $40- 3-year license (new / renew)
  • $25- Microchipping dogs & cats


 

Microchip Your Pet

Tuesday - Friday
10:30am - 5:00pm.
Denver Animal Shelter will microchip your dog or cat for $25. 
Your pet must be over two pounds (2lbs) to receive a microchip
 
You do not have to be a Denver County resident, we want to ensure if any pet gets lost it will be returnted back to the owner. 
 
A microchip identification implant can identify your pet if it loses its collar. Most shelters can scan pets for this type of ID, and your contact information is kept on a shared registry
