Why Become a Volunteer?

Make a difference:  Your time and effort will help make the animals at the Denver Animal Shelter as comfortable as possible.

Increase social awareness:
By volunteering with the Denver Animal Shelter, you'll stay in touch with your community and its needs and issues as they relate to the humane treatment of animals.

Feel better mentally and physically:
People who volunteer have been known to be happier, healthier, feel they have a purpose and have a greater sense of self-satisfaction.  Volunteering with animals can even lower your stress level, heighten your immune system, and help you sleep better at night.

Build your resume and gain real-life experience:
Employers, high schools, and universities highly value volunteerism.

Expand your social circle:
As a volunteer with our team, you will have the opportunity to connect with other animal lovers in your community.
