• VIN Verification

    Emissions test
In order to register a vehicle in the City and County of Denver (Denver residents and businesses only), a vehicle identification number (VIN) verification is required if you have an out-of-state title or you've purchased a vehicle outside Colorado. A VIN verification is also required if:

    - A vehicle is transferred on a Purged Bill of Sale.
    - A correction is required on the title pertaining to the vehicle description.

Denver Motor Vehicle will perform a standard VIN verifications Form DR2698, from 9am to 3pm for a nominal fee of $20.00 per vehicle (weather permitting).

If your transaction requires a certifed VIN inspection, contact your local law enforcement agency
(contact the agency ahead of time to ensure that you may be serviced before you proceed to that office).

If you are not a Denver County resident, please visit the State of Colorado DMV website to locate your branch office.

     Holiday closure notice

All Denver DMV offices will be CLOSED Monday, Feb-16-2015 in observance of President's Day
